Early Loss/Miscarriage

It can often be very confusing if you have lost a baby very early on in pregnancy.  You may not know the reason for your loss, you may not have gotten to see you baby, or found out the gender.

Many people feel as though others are not accepting of their grieving process, that you are expected to move on or just try again.  We are very sorry if you are experiencing this, the loss of a baby, is still a loss no matter how small the baby is. We have listed some things you can do for your tiny baby.

  • Make a memory box and fill it with keepsakes.  We know you may not have many, but here are some... Pregnancy tests, OBGYN business/appointment cards, photos taken while you were pregnant, write a list of your pregnancy experiences (cravings, feelings, due date, weight gain), also maybe a shirt that you wore while pregnant as it was wrapping you belly where baby was.
  • Use photography: Capture photos of things that make you think of baby.  These could be sunsets, flowers, butterflies, clouds.
  • You could also journal.
  • Buy a small teddy bear to hold.
  • We feel that you should talk to your doctor, if you are going to try to conceive again.  Ask about progesterone testing in early pregnancy, and any other tests they you may need.
  • Honor your baby, don't be afraid to talk about them.  If you feel others around you do not understand, we recommend finding an online support group for Baby loss.  We have also just launched our private Facebook support group Join here.
    • There is also many in person support groups, your doctors office or local labor and delivery should be able to provide these.
  •  We also make free custom photo graphics for your tiny baby, you can request on our Facebook Page
  • Order your medical records,  you also can request ultrasound images, That are often stored in your medical records
  • Get a something personalized (ornament, necklace, décor). You can find places that offer these here Baby loss memorial items
  • Gather information, often there is no cause found for why a baby was lost. (links below)
  • We now issue Certificates of Life to recognize the life of your baby.
  • PLEASE take a look through our Resource List and let us know if you need help with any resources not listed.
